 What Soul Direction Is

Soul direction is the practice of presence. It offers space to slow down and listen to what is happening in your inner life during times when familiar ways of living or meaning-making no longer hold.

In soul direction, attention is given to what is emerging in your life. Feelings, patterns, questions, longings, and resistances are noticed and held with care. Time is taken to discern what matters, without rushing toward answers or solutions.

This work is not about advice or fixing. It is not about improving yourself or becoming someone else. It is about learning how to listen more honestly to what your life is asking of you.

Soul direction supports people in staying present with complexity, grief, joy, and unknowing. It helps cultivate a more trusting relationship with your own conscience and inner life, rather than relying on external certainty.

How Soul Direction Works

In a session, you bring whatever feels most alive for you right now. This may include grief, confusion, anger, longing, relief, curiosity, or something that is still difficult to name.

My role is to offer grounded, compassionate presence. I listen closely and reflect what I hear. I help slow the pace so we can stay with what is present rather than moving past it too quickly.

In this work, we may:

  • notice what continues to return for your attention
  • stay with difficult or tender emotions without trying to resolve them
  • listen for what is asking to be tended
  • discern what feels aligned with your conscience and direction
  • allow insight to emerge in its own time

This is a collaborative process. You remain the authority on your own life.

Why People Seek Soul Direction

People come to soul direction for many reasons. Sometimes there is clear loss or transition. Other times there is a quieter sense of malaise, disorientation, or spiritual stagnation, shaped both by personal experience and by the state of the world.

People often arrive when:

  • they feel a general malaise about their life or about the world
  • they sense they are in a spiritual rut or feel inwardly stagnant
  • familiar sources of meaning no longer feel nourishing
  • grief is present, named or unnamed
  • joy and sorrow are both present without a clear way to hold them
  • they feel restless, disconnected, or unsure how to live from here
  • they know something wants attention, but cannot yet say what

You do not need a clear problem to begin. A willingness to stay with what feels true is enough.

Four-Month Soul Direction & Energetic Mentorship

Some passages ask for sustained companionship rather than session-based support.

I offer a four-month Energetic Mentorship rooted in soul direction, including weekly 60-minute sessions, between-session support, energy healing, and grief tending. This offering is for those moving through deeper transitions, struggling to find meaning and hope amid the weight of these times, or seeking healing and direction.

This offering may be most supportive if you are living with:

  • the death of a loved one
  • changes in health, work, or identity
  • endings of relationships or roles
  • a spiritual rut or extended seasons of questioning
  • collective grief related to political, ecological, or cultural rupture
  • difficulty sustaining hope or meaning in the face of ongoing upheaval

This work unfolds over time. It allows space for trust to build, for the nervous system to settle, and for the kind of slow discernment that certain passages require.

We begin with a conversation. You’ll be invited to answer a few questions and schedule a call so we can listen together for whether this level of accompaniment is the right fit at this time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this therapy?
This work is not therapy in the clinical sense. It is soul direction and spiritual companionship, grounded in presence, reflection, and grief tending.

Do I need to identify as grieving?
No. Many people arrive feeling unsettled, stagnant, or disoriented rather than naming grief. This work meets you where you are.

Do I need to be religious or spiritual?
No belief system is required. Soul here refers to the deeper currents of your inner life, however you understand them.

What about support between sessions?
Between-session voice and text support is included only in the four-month container. Single sessions and bundles do not include between-session support.

Is my experience held in confidence?
Yes. All sessions and communications are held in confidence.
